Wesley Clark is my Hero!

June 30, 2008

Finally someone is coming out and saying that John McCain’s experience as a fighter pilot and a prisoner of war, while admirable and worthy of praise, does not make him automatically a great commander-in-chief!

Wesley Clark, someone whose credentials in the military cannot be questioned, is the one who is doing it.  And I think it it great and about time.

While John McCain did serve in the military he has never made an executive decision regarding the military.  For him to claim his military service as a perfect segway into the role of commander-in-chief is crazy.

  1. AT LAST ! SOMEONE OF STATURE IS SAYING THAT THE EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES !

Getting shot down over Vietnam does not qualify someone to be President.

23 combat missions is not an impressive number and there is nothing to suggest that they were heroic.

Surviving as a POW says that McCain is a survivor-nothing more.

A closer look at McCain’s military career is not very pretty and suggests that he would not have even gotten into the Naval Academy much less advanced in his career had his father and grandfather not been 4 star admirals.

  2. Hear, hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Right, so his 20+ years of military experience and knowledge of military strategies makes him very unqualified for the job.

and Barack Obama’s NO experience makes him the perfect candidate to deal with broad affairs…gee good point elliott.

  4. I see politics is a strong issue with you. As it is me, I’m only considered about the well fair of my city. I’ve been reading posts but have yet to comment, but i see that someone calling himself the JOKER has been blogging against your ideas. I can help you clean up these bloggers and rid the joker, if you support me. The night is darkest just before the dawn…I promise the dawn is coming!

  5. Hey Elliot, I disagree. McCain’s military experience and 25 years in Congress DO prepare him for the job of President. Especially when competing against a Junior Senator. His military career prepared him to take over during a time of war and has shown that he cares for his country deeply enough to die for it. Obama reminds me of the person who joins a club as a freshman in high school and immediately runs for president. He is careless with his words and I truly believe he needs more experience. If he wants to run again after he has had a little more experience then I will give him a harder look. Maybe I’m old school, but I don’t want to entrust such an important job to an intern.

By the way, I’m glad to see your at least not giving up the fight.

  6. John Cobb

Maybe I am old school. I am 69 years old . I have lived in Europe 7 years . I spoke French fluently when I was there. I was an officer on ships at sea. I was a physician making life and death decisions for over 33 years. I hold an MBA.
I have studied and have experience in military, medical and business leadership and decision making. Obama has impressed me with his intellegence, common sense, judgement and decision making ability.

John McCain made his way in the Navy by dint of having a father and grandfather who were 4 star admirals and in the Senate because he was able to pass himself off as a war hero based on 23 relatively unheroic combat missions and surviving as a POW. As a senator he is a superstitious, compulsive gambler with an anger management problem
